Before shaving a dog, it is important to wash your dog and blow dry their fur. It is recommended to oil the blade sets at least once a day, ideally before every grooming session. To clean the blades, immerse them in clipper oil or blade cleaner while the clipper is running, and then dry the blades with a clean cloth after cleaning.

If the blade is still not cutting, there might be hair trapped between the upper and lower blade. To resolve this, remove the blade from the clipper and slide the upper blade to one side without loosening the tension spring or moving the upper blade completely out from under the tension spring. Wipe the surfaces of the blades with a dry cloth and place a drop of clipper oil where the upper and lower blades meet and in the guide slot of the tension spring.

After leaving the factory, it is normal for the blades to have hair residue, which may appear as white hairs on the blades.
